Classic Crispy Churros Recipe


Ingredients (for Churros)

Water – 1 cup
Sugar – 2 tbsp
Salt – 2 pinch
Butter – 50 g
Plain flour – 1 cup
Egg – 1
Oil – for deep frying
For Cinnamon Sugar:
Sugar – 6 tbsp
Cinnamon powder – 2 tbsp

Method:

1️⃣ In a saucepan, add water, sugar, salt, and butter. Bring to a boil.
2️⃣ Turn off the heat, add flour, and mix quickly until it forms a smooth dough.
3️⃣ Let the dough cool to room temperature. Add the egg and mix well until combined.
4️⃣ Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle.
5️⃣ Heat oil in a pan for deep frying on medium heat.
6️⃣ Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden and crispy.
7️⃣ Remove and drain on paper towels.
8️⃣ Roll the churros in cinnamon sugar while still warm.

Thick Chocolate Sauce for Churros

Ingredients (for Chocolate Sauce)
Dark chocolate – 50 g
Sugar – 2 tbsp
Milk – ½ cup
Cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water)

Method:

1️⃣ In a saucepan, add chocolate, sugar, and milk. Melt on low heat and bring to a gentle boil.
2️⃣ Add the cornstarch slurry and cook, stirring continuously, until the sauce thickens and turns glossy.
3️⃣ Remove from heat and serve warm with churros.
