They discover the precise moment when the body accelerates its aging.

Did you know that aging isn’t a steady process? Contrary to popular belief, the body doesn’t age at the same rate throughout life. A major study published in the journal Cell reveals that there’s a turning point, an age when our tissues begin to deteriorate more rapidly.

Chinese researchers have mapped, over nearly five decades, the changes affecting our organs at the molecular level. Their findings open a new era in understanding aging… and perhaps in preventing it.
A giant study that reveals the internal clock of aging

For five years, Professor Guang-Hui Liu’s team analyzed:

516 human samples,
from 13 different organs,
in people aged 14 to 68 years.

Their goal: to create the most comprehensive map ever made of the human proteome, that is, the complete set of proteins that ensure the proper functioning of our cells. The result: a true “biological clock” capable of revealing the real age of our tissues, sometimes very different from our chronological age.
