Step 1: Prepare the filling
In a bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
Set aside in the refrigerator while you prepare the cake batter.
Step 2: Prepare the cake batter
Preheat oven to 160°C (325°F). Grease and flour a cake or bundt pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the liquid mixture, mixing just enough to obtain a smooth mixture.
