HPV risks in beauty salons and how to prevent infection

Routine salon services, such as manicures, pedicures, waxing, eyebrow shaping, lash lifts, and similar treatments, require the use of  tweezers ,  scissors ,  cuticle nippers ,  files  , and other tools that frequently come into contact with the skin. Many of these procedures can cause  micro-cuts , skin shedding, or irritation in sensitive areas. While these details may seem minor, they represent an ideal entry point for a virus to enter the body if the tools have not been properly disinfected.

When an establishment uses an instrument on a person’s skin without properly sterilizing it, there is a possibility that cellular debris or viral particles may remain. If that same instrument is then used on another client,  HPV can be introduced through small lesions , such as  microscopic cuts ,  dry or cracked skin ,  raised cuticles  , or even areas irritated by repeated handling. It is a silent mechanism, but significant enough to warrant serious attention from consumers.
